The Doctors and the Lawyers
Statistically one-half of each dollar spent on medical expenses goes for medical insurance, which goes to pay off multimillion dollar lawsuits, which goes in the pockets of lawyers, who do seem to populate the congress and the senate and now we know why we never hear these statistics or a discussion of limiting hundred million dollar lawsuits that we all pay for in the end. Can giving a middle class family a hundred million dollars because a doctor negligently caused a death really be justified from any point of view? Something like a couple of million should cover it. Let's say a CEO with a hundred million dollar salary dies. There is also such a thing as life insurance. On top of this we have the fact that fifty percent of doctor visits are for a common cold for which there is no cure. Just a few ideas as to why private medicine went bad.
