Pot May Have had a Better Understaning
There were four years missing from Charls’s life. The four years at the naval academy. The four years that he could not remember clearly, and the four years when Charlie had worked on him—had deleted parts and pieces and put him back together again. His parents were happy that Charls was sent off to the academy. The only problem was that Charls didn’t even remember having attended the academy, and especially, he completely forgot about the training and the specific training in a hundred ways to kill a man with your bare hands. He didn’t know that he had that ability and what’s more, never asked for it, and when he had what he didn’t know he had, it all added up to a big problem coming down the pipe. He was an artist granted the ability to kill. If he knew of his talent, he would have used it to kill off evil. The thing is that another student at the academy was just a little bit more aware of his potential and picked his resume out of a pile and selected Golem for PLAN A. The PLAN to end all life on planet Earth was PLAN B, and that was a bit more than anyone could take, including a businessman with a successful business, even if it was a tiny bit bawdy. But at least now it was quiet, something often missed in the Western sense of civilization, and Golem could write. And let people know of the missing link in the chain of motivation and reaction—the feelings behind the plan.
And to think that all of this came about from a single vial of primordial protoplasm saved from a dying planet. Perhaps, even, from a single sperm introduced to an egg through a quest for orgasmic pleasure and as a response to an innate instinctual desire and endorphins.
Pot knew these things somehow… that we should have fun as we were created, from a desire for fun, yet the world of his time seemed to think that fun was irresponsible and that only work made the world go around. Pot may have had a better understanding of the universe than many…
